Tamar Orchard Barn – Studio with En-suite

View TariffApproached down the woodland carriage drive, the dog friendly, self-catering Tamar Orchard Barn is set in the 2 acre landscaped gardens of Sandhill House, which overlooks uninterrupted views of the stunning Tamar Valley. Just 10 minutes from historic Tavistock, Sandhill is set above the ethereal mists of the Valley, and you can watch the ever changing scene as the it rolls away down the tidal river Tamar, with wild Dartmoor beckoning beyond. The Barn is within a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and World Heritage Site on the Devon/Cornwall border. As you approach this enchanting, self-catering Barn, you will enjoy the formal water gardens, before finding yourself in an oasis of green and surrounded by nature; if you are lucky you will see the Fallow deer and their fauns in the meadow below.

The Tamar Orchard Barn, once the apple store for the grandest house in Gunnislake, is now a fusion of contemporary boutique flavoured comfort whilst also echoing it’s ancient origins with the old stable door, wooden beams and traditional granite stonewalls.

Bright and airy decoration, with attention to detail, means you can enjoy a self-catering countryside retreat in all seasons.
After an action-packed day ‘discovering the extraordinary’ exploring the local delights, you can retreat to your cosy barn and relax with a glass of wine on the private, south facing terrace, perhaps cook up a feast on the BBQ. Then as the balmy evening draws out you can star gaze making the most of the bright light quality of the skies. Then sink into the king-sized, solid ash bed and luxurious linen, and listen to the silence only to fall into a deep and uninterrupted night’s sleep with only the call of the owls in the trees to listen to. The stunning bathroom continues to echo the origins of the Barn with rare slate lining the walk-in shower, slate wash hand basin and under floor heating warming the natural limestone floor in Winter.

Perfect for relaxation and recreation, The Tamar Orchard Barn makes a superb escape for memorable Cornish adventures.
