Plymouth Boat Trips

Idyllic river cruising adventure

We are delighted to let you know that Plymouth Boat Trips have just started their river cruises up the stunning Tamar Valley to the pretty, riverside village of Calstock.

Calstock Viaduct

Calstock Village and the Magnificent Calstock Viaduct

Another world

This trip really is not to be missed. The totally unspoilt scenery is simply breathtaking as you pass the National Trust property’s Cotehele Quay and Pentillie’ Castle’s Boat House. You may recall that the latter was used for the filming of the first serious of Dawn French’s “Delicious”series (Sky only).

Sadly, my phone video file passing Cotehele Quay was too large to upload but hopefully this will inspire you to book an unforgettable journey.

Plymouth Boat Trips run the cruises between April and October, inclusive so you have plenty of time to ‘dove tail’ in a trip on your holiday. You can take the train from Gunnislake to Plymouth and experience the full river cruise . Or you can take the boat from Calstock to Plymouth, have a mossy round the Barbican, and catch the train back to Gunnislake! Either way this will be one of the most memorable trips you will have experienced.
